Ruthless Consistency Is What You Need
Advice to myself
You don’t have to be the smartest. Your situation doesn’t need to be perfect.
Ruthless consistency is what you need.
So often it can feel like we need to have things figured out before we take any action.
You may want to start making videos online.
You think that before you start you need to get a better camera. Save up money to get a better mic. That’s not the case.
Do those things hurt?
Of course not.
But so often the pursuit for perfection can get in the way of just getting started.
The truth is that you won’t be great at something until you get a massive amount of reps.
Sure, some people may have more natural talent in certain areas.
But most people who have reached the top of their respective fields weren’t what we see today right away.
You can’t get better at something until you start taking action.
The more consistent you are at whatever it is you want to do, the better you will get over time.
You have to know what you want and take action until the desire you have becomes a reality.
Imperfect action beats no action every single day.
Is there something that you have been thinking about creating but don’t think you’re good enough yet to start?
Start anyway.
Create an action plan.
If it’s making content decide that you are going to make one piece of content every week.
Don’t stop if you get 0 views for months. Decide that you will not stop until you reach your desired end result.
It took me 75 YouTube videos to get my first 100 subscribers on a channel where I talk about my favorite sports team.
2,700 videos later and I’ve been able to build my channel to around 41,000 subscribers.
Looking back my first videos were not very good.
But when I started my channel I went in with the mindset that I wouldn’t stop until it worked.
I still realize that there is so much I don’t know.
I know I can get better and learn from people who are much farther along than me.
The reality is that sometimes we just need to be patient.
You may not see your desired results yet, but one day you will and you’ll be very happy that you never gave up.
